WORLD´s ELECTRONIC MUSIC LEAGUE IN INTERVIEW:

Iman Gerowgan: Hello Stephan, how are you feeling?

Stephan Bodzin: hi iman i´m feling absolutely great, thanks. i moved to lisbon a month ago and do enjoy good life here (smiling).

IIman Gerowgan: Especially these days , your name is often associated with „LUNA “ For those who are unaware, can you tell us the idea behind this project? how did it come to Luna?

Stephan Bodzin: LUNA is the name of the album which i just released together with marc romboy. it´s actually a massive collection of our works of the last years plus 21(!) remixes by the who-is-who of the electronic music scene. we had the idea last year by realizing that for example "callisto" is still working so good out there even though we produced it in 2007 that we could ask some collegues to do a remix of it. next day we decided ask even more guys to reix the whole back-catalogue of our stphan bodzin vs marc romboy project. the response was overwhelming, nearly everyone we asked was up to do a mix. i´m still proud when i watch last list of names! the project´s name had to be "luna": all the track-names are moon-names, the daughter of marc romboy is called luna as well as my wife´s name is luna. so...

Iman Gerowgan: You and Marc Romboy are working together for a long time. However this project is something new - together as a live act. You´re currently in the mid of the Luna Tour. Before the tour started, you were excited if everything will work out. What is your resumee so far?

Stephan Bodzin: Everythng worked out even better than expected. the response on this live-show was just incredible. we had some tech-probs with our wifi-networks which connects the 7 devices we´re using wireless, but in the endsolved everything in time and played some unfogetable shows.

Iman Gerowgan: The tour ends on May 1st at Fabric in London. Have you planed something „special“ for the last Luna show? ..and can we expect more from Luna in future or is it a temporary poject?

Stephan Bodzin: The tour end at fabric was definitely one of the most intense shows i´ve ever played....so many smiling faces, so many hands up. i still can feel the vibe, still can hear them shout :-) the special was nothing more than playing the best show of the tour. and i guess we did it exactly like that. the luna live show will only be setted up one more time, at the berghain_berlin in september for a very very last show. we´re both really looking forward to play at this already legendary club which is called "best club in the world" these days...yeah.

Iman Gerowgan: Which artists inspire you at the moment?

Stephan Bodzin: Many fresh artist out there at the moment! i love mondkopf from france as well as kink from bulgaria for example. new school / oldschool, both in a perfect way. gesaffelstein from france is doin some hot shit too. actually the whole dubstep-scene and also some drum & bass projects do inspire me a lot. it´s nothing i will follow, but the sound of techno kind of stucks in a beatport-crisis and needs new impulses, new fusions, new subcultural movements. i´m very exited about what the future will bring us!

Iman Gerowgan: Your style is often titeled as „melancholic“. In how far does your music reflects you and your personality?

Stephan Bodzin: It definitely does. i´m a very emotional - some say extreme guy. i´m on 100 or 0, all or nothing. and so music should be for me. i hate a melody, or i love it. i produce a track within 3 hours or never.

Iman Gerowgan: Earthquakes, War..! How do all these tragedies affect you in your productivity?

Stephan Bodzin: Not at all. earth was quaking and men were fighting since the first historical records and of course before that. i´m really sorry for all touched personal by this tragedies, but it doesn´t affect my creativity.

Iman Gerowgan: „Music can change the world because it can change people“ (Bono, U2) What do you think? right or wrong? Why?

Stephan Bodzin: Music can´t change the world. music can change each and everyone maybe, but the idea that the world need a chang is not mine. the world is a good place, mankind doesn´t need a change, the planet will stay mostly blue and the time will come when another race will be hosted by mother earth. i don´t like bono.

Iman Gerowgan: What can we expact from Stephan Bodzin in the near future? And what is happening on your own record label HERZBLUT?

Stephan Bodzin: I just moved to lisbon and started working on my 2nd solo-slbum. i hope to finish this one untill autum/winter and release it next spring. on herzblut of course. untill that we have new stuff from dapayk solo, a full artist album from nicolas masseyeff and some very big names for autum´s releases.

Iman Gerowgan: Your solo shows continue also after May 1st with the end of the Luna Tour with dates in Spain, France and Brazil until end of May. What happens after? Are you planing a timeout? We heared you moved to Lisbon. Whats the reason?

Stephan Bodzin: There was no reason to stay in bremen, that´s why i moved. lisbon is known as the most intense city of europe, and i can confirm it´s like that!! life´s just good here, food is fresh, people are smiling more than in the colder regions. timeout: no never, will play as long as can stand on my two feets.

Iman Gerowgan: Thank you for the interview and your time. It has been a honour . We wish you all the best!

Stephan Bodzin: Thanks to you iman, it was a pleasure. hope to see you on one of my future shows!!
